Dr. Luck began his medical career as a Physician Assistant, working in Trauma, general surgery, Emergency Medicine and Ophthalmology for 5 years before deciding to further his medical education at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine; New York Institute of Technology.
His is board certified in Ophthalmology and Fellowship training in Anterior Segment and Cataract Surgery.
With 20 years of Ophthalmology experience, Dr. Luck has received several awards, including the Resident Trainer of the Year, and the Presidential Achievement Award from the College of Osteopathic Ophthalmology in 2015.
Dr. Lucks’ other responsibilities includes the training of Medical Students, Interns, and Ophthalmology residents as Assistant Program Director of the Ophthalmology residency at St. John’s Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York.
His specialization includes general ophthalmology with a concentration in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and cataracts and is Fellowship trained in Anterior Segment Surgery. He is a native English speaker but Spanish is also spoken in the office.

Dr. Richard A. Luck began his practice in the year 2000 at Inwood, Long Island. He built up a local practice which included the Rockaways and the “5 Towns” villages and now extends to eastern Login Island. In 2011, he moved his practice to a brand-new, larger office equip with the latest in ophthalmic and eye care technology.
